LIBERATOR Project

The LIBERATOR consortium wholeheartedly supports the views expressed in the recent Leuven Communiqué concerning the future role of public libraries in the information society.

LIBERATOR - Libraries in European Regions - Access to Telematics and Other Resources - is a project co-funded by the Libraries Sector of the European Commission's Telematics Applications Programme, which aims to establish exemplary Regional Information Services (RIS) in diverse European regions.

LIBERATOR's concept of an RIS will be instrumental in reinforcing and promoting the leading role of public libraries in the Information Society.
